Yoo Digital - Yoo Move 6001
This player promised compatibility with different audio or video formats, especially the ability to read files in a 720p definition without prior recoding. Its interface is fully touch, supposed to make our lives easier and it introduces the joy of multitasking. So you can, for example, look at a picture or read an e-book, while listening to music. It also comes with a remote control and a cable to connect it to the TV. But you end up finding some surprises, not always good, unfortunately.
In terms of style, it makes a good impression. The touch screen with 4.3 inches can display 16 million colors, offering superb image quality, despite the too much brightness. This can bring some disconfort watching movies.
The media players tend to move towards greater flexibility for the user who is no longer obliged to reduce the size of video files. Thus, one argument for this model is the ability to read files encoded in high definition 720p or in a definition of 1 280 x 720 pixels. Of course, the definition of the player's screen, 800 x 480, is much lower.
Unfortunaly, it appearsto have an almost total inability to read smoothly 720p HD files. Worse, if the device is formatted to NTFS, since the file system is originaly FAT 32, the videos are no longer accessible through the Yoo Move 6001 interface. And this confinement to the file system FAT 32 has a big disadvantage, namely the maximum file size can not exceed 4 GB, even though many movies encoded in high definition exceed that size. It plays DivX, AVI, RM and MP4 or other, but not HD.
On the touch side of problems, scrolling is both continuous and from page to page, so the result is really confusing. You can't move the playback progress bar to forward or backward in a movie or audio file, and the procedure to make a fast forward is to keep your finger on the fast forward button on the screen while a short pressure passes to the next track. Another difficulty, the player interface is not accessible when it is plugged into the USB port of a computer.
Yoo Move 6001 it is offered for a very competitive price, so its truth we cannot be to hard judging it, and it is also truth that dispite its faults, this still makes a good video player that plugs into the TV (if you don't really care much about HD).
The function e-book is limited to Txt. and Lrc. formats. And yet, accented characters do not always display correctly. On the upside: it has good compatibility with a vast majority of existing audio formats: MP3, WMA, Flac, WAV, AC3 or OGG. The addition of a microSD memory card (512MB to 8GB) can also significantly expand the storage capacity (8 to 32 GB, depending on the version).
